Love-in-Idleness, the inhouse D&D knitwear designer, combines hand knitting, machine knitting and crochet in a meticulous making process, as well as a variety of other techniques, machine sewing, felting and hand-dying amongst them. Colourwork and chunky knits are a house speciality. Any project will be considered from the simple to the fanciful, and a consultancy service is available to help realise concept and design.

With knitting and crochet patterns ranging back to the 1930s and a free research service for hard-to-source patterns stretching further back, Love-in-Idleness can help you on your way to your dream knit of yesteryear. We can fit you for the pattern of your choice, make any necessary or required concessions to modernity, and create your custom-made piece of history. Need we add that colour and fibre content are at your discretion?

We also undertake one-off and multiple commissions and sample pieces for stylists, manufacturers and photographers, and can advise and assist at all stages of the realisation process. Please feel free to contact D&D with your requirements and we will generate a competitive quote.
